I once heard a quote by Erma Bombeck, where she said ”worrying is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do, but never gets you anywhere.”
Worrying is considered to be a form of negative repetitive thinking where you find yourself constantly thinking about possible future negative events, the ”what if” dilemma.
Now before you go diagnosing yourself let me say that it's normal to worry to some degree.
It becomes an issue when your worrying starts interfering with your normal level of functioning.
You find yourself worrying more often than not and have a difficult time disengaging from it.
So how can you overcome worry: 1. Address your belief about worry 2. Focus on the present (not the future) 3. Learn positive coping strategies to deal with your negative thoughts (go back to previous posts).
