Spring Cleaning: Getting Rid of Negative Thoughts

I know its summer but it's never too late to do some spring cleaning when it comes to your thoughts.

Just let it go. Get rid of self-hatred, guilt and shame. Release unrealistic expectations, unforgiveness, and resentment. Clear your thoughts from all that negative clutter and make room for a new and improved you.

Remember just because you think it doesn't make it a fact. Thoughts tend to come and go. It is up to you to decide whether or not you will entertain them.

Identify your negative thoughts, challenge them and replace them.

You can challenge your thoughts by using Socratic questioning, such as:

  • what’s the evidence for this thought?

  • what's the evidence against this thought?

  • Is the thought based on a fact or a feeling?
