As we start this new year we often think of ways to improve/maintain our health.
Whether we make a resolution to eat healthier or maybe start exercising, but did you know that what we put on our skin can also impact our health, both physical and mental.
What we put into our skin gets absorbed into our bodies and if you are not careful you can be putting on chemicals/toxins that have been known to cause issues such as allergies, eczema, cancer, hormonal disruption and reproductive problems.
These toxins can create inflammation within your body and studies have shown that a major contributor to symptoms of depression and anxiety is inflammation.
So, next time you get the chance checkout the ingredients found in your skin care products. See if they contain any of these chemicals (see list below), if so it may be time to replace them.
If you can’t seem to find the ingredients for your product or maybe your not sure about an ingredient then go ahead and check out the website to the Environmental Working Group (EWG) or download their app.
Happy Wednesday!!
