“Remember, you have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn't worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens." -- Louise L. Hay

I would like to dedicate this month to the topic of Self-Esteem.

Self-esteem simplified is basically the value we place on ourselves. Keep in mind that the value we place on ourselves is subjective to the way we feel and see ourselves.

Before we move forward with this topic. I would like for you to do a quick assessment of your self esteem.

According to the self-perception theory, when our actions are unclear to us we observe our behaviors and infer our attitudes from them.

Using this theory I would like for you to take sometime to sit down and describe yourself.

As you reflect back on what you wrote I want you to pay attention to the positive, neutral, and negative statements you wrote about yourself.

If you notice more negative statements you may need to work on improving your self-esteem.

But not to worry as these upcoming weeks I will provide you with some exercises and activities you can do to work on improving your self-esteem.
