Stress is our body's reaction to any real or perceived threat/challenge. Stress can be a physical, emotional, behavioral, and/or cognitive response to a perceive threat.
It can come from many different things such as:
* Relationship with others
* Work
* School
* Illness
* Life changes
* Day to day activities
* Pademics
During our body’s stress response, it goes into what is often referred to as the ”fight or flight” response. This response occurs when our body goes into survival mode. It is also what causes you to experience symptoms of stress.
During the ”fight or flight” response your sympathetic system gets activated and you may find yourself experiencing physical, behavioral, emotional symptoms of stress. Such as: pain/tightness in cheat, nausea, over/under eating, irritability, poor time management, mood swings, lack of concentration, drained.
As you can see stress can negatively effect your mind, body, and emotions.
So what can you do? 🧐
- Be physically active
- Eat and sleep well
- Get organized
- Find support
- Relaxation strategies
