“The most important thing in communication is to hear what isn’t being said.” - Peter Drucker
Typically when we hear the word communication, we usually think about what we say, verbal communication, but non-verbal communication is just as important.
According to Edward Hall in a normal conversation between two people less than 35% of the social meeting is actually transmitted by words, so at least 65% of it is conveyed through the body - via none-verbal communication.
There are various types of non-verbal communication, such as: * Tone of voice * Body language * Posture * Gesture * Appearance * Eye contact * Touch * Movement (head, hands) * Closeness
So, why is this all important you may be asking yourself, because often times how we say things maybe just as important or more than what we say.
This month we will be focusing on communication as we address the different communication styles, as well as learn some basic communication skills.
