“Change, real change, comes from the inside out. It doesn't come from hacking at the leaves of attitude and behaviour, with quick fix personality ethic techniques. It comes from striking at the root, the fabric of our thoughts, the fundamental essential paradigms, which give definition to our character and create the lens through which we see the world.”
- Stephen R. Covey
According to research on positive psychology, cultivating an attitude of gratitude helps promote better physical health, sleep quality, strengthens relationships, and increases an overall better life satisfaction (Mager, 2014). Gratitude helps change your perception, which helps change the way you see the world, yourself, and others. That’s probably why the bible talks about the importance of renewing our minds (Romans 12:2). Like any other skill in order to reap the benefits, you must practice the skill daily. I would encourage you to keep a gratitude journal and every night before you go to sleep right down 3 to 5 things you're grateful for and why.
