Self-Compassion Exercise: Letter Writing

This week’s self-compassion exercise is to write yourself a Self Compassion Letter.

You will follow the following prompts when writing this letter:


Dear (your name here)

- I a writing to you because I understand that it is really hard for you at the moment. I know you are struggling with... - I am sorry you have to go through this... - I hope you know it's okay to feel... - I hope you know that everyone experiences... - Human beings are imperfect and we all struggle, so I hope you know you are not alone in this... - I a wondering if you have thought about (and helpful perspective about the problem)... - I really want your struggle yo her easier. To help you feel better, address the problem and move on from it, I a wondering if it wild help to (add behavior that would.bring comfort or help solve problem)... - (Anything else that needs to be said can be added here)... - Please know I care about you and am here for you whenever you needd.

Give it a try this week and see how it goes. Remember to put the letter down for a while after writing it and comeback won't later and read it again.
